Acrylic on canvas-This commissioned piece would be demanding, as any painting involving faces, getting the likeness is an absolute must. On top of this capturing the characters persona, drive, intentions, as well as the importance of the scene. Being a fan of the show my self I had enough research to start right away on this piece. The hard hitting words, ” I demand trial by combat.” Is to mimic blood foreshadowing the events that followed. The client was delighted with the end result.
Charcoal on book pages-I am a Potter fan and one of my favourite scenes from the films is the re-telling of the tale of three brothers. How the animation broke away from the film with its dark and moody story telling. It had no right to work so well and it did. Furthermore how this story was always of great importance to the final outcome. I planned to develop something to show admiration for that and wanted to keep that dark tone so used charcoal. Also having the style of animation on top of the original telling of the story seemed to add to the films depiction.
Acrylic on canvas-As I really enjoyed the three games at the time and was inspired to make something. So I came up with the idea to merge the three titles of the games with their own distinctive styles, into one. While also factoring in the sky (where Bioshock Infinite takes place) and the sea (where Bioshock one and two takes place). To this day I still think the games were a master class in story telling and paved the way for developers to follow and have story as the main focus.
Acrylic on canvas-There were many ways I could’ve painted this. I scrolled through many photos and scenes and decided the dark and light split down the middle was an interesting take on Dobby’s storyline. The purple and yellow I thought paired very well and made this different. I also gave this thicker and heavier paint strokes giving hints of impressionism.
Acrylic on canvas-This game shows how a very good narrative can be told with little to no dialogue. Set in a vibrant at times yet dark world that sucks you in and kept me sane through a chunk of lockdown. This is a painting of the climactic ending of the game that brings the whole story together and leaves players shocked with the events that follow.
